SatNav make better a level of driver safety

 

   Researching of agency from Holland (TNO) determined, that system, which consist of satellite navigation, make good influence on driver conduct. This project was realized in 6 months. It was under the direction of TomTom International BV, Delta Lloyd Verzekeringen, Athlon Car Lease and Aon Nederland. The main aim of all this work was clearing up a question about correlation of navigation systems and driver competency. Explorers verified the effects of SatNav and came to conclusion, that this type of navigation benefited drivers in:

~ objective workload: - 20% -ll- ;

~ number of kilometres driven: - 16%, time of driving: -18% -ll- ;

~ + behaviour and performance, in an unfamiliar place;
~ + alertness; - stress; reaction: +12%;

~ number of insurance claims: -12%; claim costs: - 5%;
