The key selling point of the Verzio Duplii is its ability to handle two SIMs at the same time. This means that the phone can handle calls and texts routed to either SIM’s number.
The Duplii isn’t the first ever dual-sim phone, but we at Technograph discovered that Verzio’s current flagship model represents surprisingly great value from a newcomer.
The Duplii boasts the standard mid- to high-end feature set. The 2.0 megapixel camera can take pictures and videos, music and video files can be played, and Bluetooth allows easy file transfers between gadgets. The 2.2″ color display provides generous visual real-estate. The battery can last for up to four days (on light usage), and if it dies out, it’s always possible to use the extra battery Verzio helpfully provided in the box.
The phone does a great job of managing both SIMs. It’s possible to activate or deactivate each individual SIM, without turning the unit off. The unconventional keypad layout provides two call buttons, one assigned to each SIM and on opposite sides of the keypad, making it easy to call or text using a particular number.
These are just some of the benefits that recommend the Verzio Duplii to any prospective buyer. The phone, while also boasts a sturdy build quality, and is somewhat scratch resistant. Navigating through the menus was a responsive experience.
Unfortunately, the Duplii isn’t without its flaws. For some reason, the 0 on the numeric keypad is on the right side, not on the bottom (see the picture above). This weird arrangement made it harder to get used to using with the phone, and may turn off customers who are used to the traditional keypad. It also takes time to understand how the menu system works, especially if you’re used to a particular of interface.
But after a week or so, texting with the Duplii became second nature to us, and we adapted to the weird menu system eventually. And with an SRP of Php 14,990, this full-featured dual-sim phone looks to be an attractive buy once Verzio opens their store along Bonifacio High Street this month.
