Samsung launches M470 first HSUPA smartphone

Samsung Electronics launched first HSUPA supported smartphone, SCH-M470. The slider will sport upstream connection up to 2Mbps enabling users to send videos and other files roughly six times faster than the more widespread HSDPA format. M470 sports WiFi, 2MP camera, microSD card slot and running Windows Mobile 6. As company officials says the M470 will be available in Korea by the the second half of the year, when SK Telecom launches a commercial HSUPA service in parts of the country, while phone already supports European HSUPA networks offered by Vodafone and others, but doesn’t currently support the 850MHz band needed for full 3G access needed in North America.
