The Apple patent office has been busy churning out new patents for it’s iPhone and a Newer Wii like motion sensor patent. That’s good news
For the iPhone, Apple’s patent seems to point out a way to inform you of possible dropped calls. The Program calculates how far ou are from a cell tower and gives you predictions based on signal strength ect. The other is a lost object find that uses bluetooth. The technology getts its idea from the childrens game, hotter or colder. if you move closer it says hotter if not it says colder, but apple’s version might have a revolutionary multitouch interface (and a briliant API) but it is the same basic concept.
Finally there is the Wii-like motion sensor: the patent is for a remote control that can distinguish infrared light sources. hrmph states:
The present invention can include remote control systems that can distinguish predetermined light sources from stray or unintended light sources, such as environmental light sources and/or reflections.
Earlier this month another patent application was uncovered for a Wii-like controller developed by Apple. As with all patent applications, this may not represent technology planned for any particular project, though recent job descriptions have listed “remote controls” as one of the technologies Apple is developing.
