In case you have been living in a cave you know that on Monday Apple will announce the new second generation iPhone (called the 3G). Of concern here is the rumored upgraded built in camera. If this thing goes to 3 or more megapixels, what does that do to the already huge amount of images already online? As discussed, we are already drowning/reveling in digital imagery. But as image quality steadily improves, what increased impact or effect does this have on the way we view and regard pictures? I am ambivilent: On one hand I simply cannot begin to process the amount of pictures out there. On the other, it lowers the barrier to entry for up and coming photographers. Further, if I am looking for a pic of a 3G iPhone, its pretty easy to find. I don't, however make my living from photography, so I imagine there is a direct economic impact from Moore's Law.
