Is Verizon Getting the iPhone?

Occasionally I'll send MP3 clips of songs to my Verizon phone for free ringtones. Take a 30 second MP3, attach it to an email, and send it to (10 digit phone number)@vzwpix.com and BAM, new ringtone. But lately Verizon has been converting these MP3 files to AAC files.

Media can be transferred to your phone via http://www.vzwpix.com too, but AAC is not an accepted format. Hmmmm.

AAC is Apple's audio encoding format.
