Another Reason Why I Probably Won't Buy An iPhone

2008/07/16

The iPhone 3G is incredible, no doubt, but I still don't really want one.  Why not?  Well, to be perfectly blunt, because I seem to have a problem with dropping my current cell phone(s)!  (Not that if someone wants to "donate" one to me... )

I've always seemed to be "Butterfingers McKnight" when it comes to cell phones--I'm dropping one at least once a month.  I bought a new Razr in 2005, before mass-production made it the best cell phone back then, for the new "low" price of $300 plus tax.  Yeah, I thought I was cool.  It actually ran better than the mass-produced Razrs, but after about 18 months, the final drop caused it to completely die.

Now I have a so-so Samsung, and I drop the sucker even more, but it seems to be more durable.  But I notice the buttons aren't responding quite like they used to.  Now, imagine me with an iPhone--I'd drop it fast!  However, I hear there's some sort of shock-resistant case... Hmmm... To be continued!
