Apple's MobileMe in a tangle
2008/07/27
Apple launched MobileMe, the successor to its .Mac service with great fanfare, two weeks ago. Among other features, its touted ability to keep the emails, calendars and address books in sync between multiple Macs, PCs and iPhones had everyone excited. Now that the dust has settled somewhat, incoming reports are pointing to somewhat glaring glitches in precisely these key functionalities. Some users at least, bounced or missing mails; others had mails that were never sent out. In fact, even the normally staunch support of Apple, Walt Mossberg has recommended that people stay far away from the service for now. He noted that, "It's a great idea, but, as of now, MobileMe has too many flaws to keep its promises."
